Population doubled 10 times, the world economy 19. That sounds close - but the 9-step gap means the economy grew 2⁹ ≈ 500 times more than population. And population's 10 doublings spread over 12,000 years; the economy's last 7 fit into 225.
In real time: the same steps, very different slope
The vertical axis is how many times it doubled; the horizontal axis is proportional to real years. The left half is 12,000 years, the right half 275 - both the same width. On the left the steps are long and shallow; on the right, an almost vertical wall. The number at the end is how many times today's value exceeds the start.
Of GDP's 19 doublings, 12 happened before 1800 (11,800 years) and 7 after (225 years) - a doubling roughly every 1,000 years before industry, every ~32 after. All 10 of market flow's doublings came after 1900: one every 13 years.

Each square's side is proportional to the square root of how many times that quantity has grown since its start (area = growth factor). At one scale: the GDP square fills the whole frame while population is a stamp and haul distance a dot. That is what '10 vs 19' really is.
